On This Page: Our History Our Mission Our Professional Staff Our History The San Francisco Bay Area Joni and Friends office was opened in 1995 and serves families from the Monterey Penisula up into the Pacific Northwest. We operate on the basis of goodwill, expertise, prayers and financial support offered by our volunteer community of churches and individual ministry friends.
Our Mission We seek to accelerate Christian ministry in the disability community by (1) embodying the hands, heart, mind and feet of Jesus Christ and (2) equipping Christ-honoring churches to grow in compassion and ministry capacity by intentionally serving those affected by disabilities. Our programming comes along side churches to support their local, domestic, and international ministry efforts in South East Asia. We specialize in consulting Afro-American and Asian faith communities, and in serving churches of all sizes which are seriously dedicated to expanding their reach.
Through...
- Communicating principles of faith and encouragement with the disabled and their families;
- Providing for the education, awareness, and equipping of individuals and local churches;
- Developing leadership within the disability community;
- Presenting specific programming addressing the needs of the disabled;
- Advocating for the full access and participation of the disabled in the fellowship, ministry and leadership life of local congregations.
...we are reaching a segment of our population often ignored and forgotten by society.
